Is there a web browser or plug-in that has autospell correction?

There is a spell check for Fire Fox as well. I use it all the time.

Yep, even allows for different dictionaries (other than YANK!). I prefer using a EN-GB dictionary than the "default" EN-US, since I spell stuff like COLOR in the "CORRECT" way. Not to mention, there's even an Afrikaans dictionary available as well!

No - I've been resigned to my fate when it comes to your (and a few others) typos for a long time already.
It was a new member who has a typo in her location field that got me thinking.

On the Fire Fox plug-ins - as I recall they're not auto correcting.
My fault - should have stressed the idea of it being an automatic spell checker I was thinking of in the OP.

Nope, I've never seen that in any browser. Except of course in the google search box, but that's something quite different!

BTW, I'd actually advise against something like this: If you use predictive text on a cellphone you'll know why! Also if you constantly get Outlook to change words which aren't in its US!!!!!! dictionary (which it ALWAYS defaults to).

I'm happy with the red-underlining. It shows you there might be something wrong, but it's up to you to fix it or not.

I think an automatic spell check would be hit and miss at best when it comes to things like peoples names and locations, I've never seen any application or add-on that handles proper nouns very well.

I hear the reasons why this might not always work out, but I tend to think it will help some folk more often than hinder.

Word actually walks this line pretty well. It only auto corrects what is blantantly obvious typos, otherwise it's the red line trick with options just a click away. You can educate the spellchecker along the way and I'd suggest it's not nearly as frustrating as predictive text.

Anyway, it was an idle thought - just throwing it out there.
