What am I missing? This guy put R5.5M in his pocket and got a R1.6M fine of which R1.5 is suspended for a few years! That means you can import and sell junk to the value of R5.5m every 5 years at the cost of R100k irrespective of how many lives it cost!

About time, frankly.
To my mind the next step would be to invoke the defective product recall provisions of the Consumer Protection Act.
I also see CBI is now pursuing a civil case for damages.
