You could have it in employment contracts, that a loan of 50% of salary will be given over a period of maternity leave with maximum of 3 months. Then a clause that the company may deduct any money owed from fianl pay. This gives you ability to take off leave pay.
Of course you might want to limit the loan amount to the equivalent of elave pay due, or work on basis you win some and lose some.
The next issue would be men? Some one is bound to say, what about me? This may be where the link to social development or perhaps study might come in.
Not a particuallry complicated policy really, probably more maths than anything.

Just the concept of what you were referring to - but solved now, I think.

    Hi

Yes it is financial debt owed to employer, such as self development/maternity/relocation.

However if I can build a generic policy with links to each of the above areas that would be great.

What are you struggling with re maternity indebtedness ( does the company pay certain deductions for the employee whilst they are on mat?)

    Regards
    Bernadette

I presume by maternity indebtness -
the company pays salary or contributes whislt on maternity, but want to be able to recover if employee does not return. It is then treated as a loan over a period of time

Would these be for financial debts owed to the employer?

I'm also scratching my head about maternity "indebtedness."
