"South Africa’s fuel prices are set to rise to a record on Wednesday, adding to inflationary pressures in an economy that imports almost all of its fuel.

The retail cost of 95-octane petrol will climb by almost 7% to a R19.54 a litre, the Central Energy Fund said in a statement on its website. Coastal petrol prices will rise to R18.82 a litre.

A year ago, petrol was almost R5 a litre cheaper.

The Gauteng price of diesel will increase to R17.20 a litre, and to R16.59 on the coast.

They will no doubt have a "valid" reason for the announcement being 4 days later than datelined.

    Peace out ... Derek.

I normally put R1000 diesel per week (it doesnt full the tank)... if we dont do any weekend road trips ( we have cut back) .

I thought electric cars where all long way off ... best you start looking into solar power and an EV charger.

Which reminds me ... best be going to the service station for fuel.

that motor bike purchase is starting to look more like an investment ... than a new toy.
