I thought about what you are saying, however I overlooked it because we have ASC's on site, they sometimes become a challenge when there is a dual band router. Normally the network with a 5g at the end pops up for you to connect devices and I didn't see it. It is certainly something I will check today.

The plan today was to switch off all the mesh WiFi units until their is only one unit, then attempt to connect again and see what happens.

This stuff can get frustrating, simple things like a capital letter in a password or as you mentioned dual band broadcasting, throw in a mikrotik router and you can waste many hours trying to do something that should be one click of a button.

5ghz will not work with the dongle

We still havent resolved the issue.

The sytem is sort of back online, but seems to drop or indicate that it is off line.

It seems to be a combination of a mesh network (we had the same issue with the solar asssitant software conencted to a mesh network), SSID, bandwidth and what ever it is that is going on in the network. I am not an IT person, but I will figure it out, I always do.

  3. Thanks given for this post:

And yeah switching off the mesh should help and hope you won

Quick one, make sure the static IP is NOT ticked, I and a dongle go down after about 3 months and then there was a wave of people having same issue after an update and if you and ticked static it have issues and that was the only site where I had ticked it.

Before I could test I had already swopped it and worked great.

It was the Sunsynk data logger.

    That may help as well

IF it was a Sunsynk dongle, I could talk yout through it on the phone I have done it so mant times now. Just watched a video on how to set it up, looks pretty much the same as the sunsynk.

Like anything you just need to do it a couple of times and anyone can do it. My problem is that I deal with so many different projects, from silly inverter installations, alarm system and CCTV which fall in pretty much the same catorgory, a couple days courses and you are a master, to more complex sytem automation and stuff like that.

This is why I say that technical support is critical for me, I have learnt to find the right person to speak to other you just waste the cusoters time and money. I am stil trying to find that perosn at Sunsynk, at the moment we still going around the world trying to get answers to questions.

    ASC Astute smart controller.

The dreaded Sunsynk app, the one that doesn't show you what is happening in real time. It cant its just a snap shot.

There is way too much info on the main page, I hear a lot of complaints about how confusing the information is on the main page, and do you really want all that data in your face when you just want to see the dots moving.

I beleive they should make a simple front page with minimul data, then if you swipe the page to the left all the other stuff should load. Most customers just want to see if the grid is switched on (here in SA) and the state of the battery, and maybe the weather to see if the panels should be prducing power. All that other data most cusotmers have no interest and have no idea what its all about. It is viewed as clutter (much like all the adverts on this forum when you dont have adblockers setup) and more annoying than adding value.

Good news, there is an update for the Sunsynk app.

I see they are going to start a series of training videos. Lets hope they take the technical support queries and build the videos on the queries flooding their call centre. Iron out the issues with the permanant bond, update the drawings used in the manuals and create valuable content, not just step by step content that is already in the manual. Yes, we have all read the manuals ... NOT. I prefer to take 10 hours trying to figure it out then 3 minutes to solve the issue by reading the manuals.

It would be good to see examples of using the system mode, I know it all in the manuals, we all know it is all in the manual, it would nice to see real life examples of ways to manage the system, especially with regards to how to save money on your elctricity account by managing the solar and batteries. How to use the solar to run the load and only the balance to charge the battery.

Some good news...The issue with the app going off line seems to be resolved.

The green light stayed on all the time however everytime I went to check if everything was ok, the site would be offline.

I still havent had any feedback for technical support, so I decided to try fix it myself, the unit had a firmaware update a week ago.

First I waited till the site was online, then went to equipment, gateway, tapped on the 3 dots then tapped on unbind.

Did a factory reset, then pulled the dongle out the inverter and shutdown everything.

Fitted the dongle back in place and started switching on everything, waited for the normal light and adjusted all the seetings back to where they were (I need to save it to a file so that I can just upload to the site).

Went to networks and found the EAPXXXX and tapped, then off to chrome, tapped 10.10.10.1, scan the network, found the network, password and bingo, success.

Everytime I checked today, it was online

Have two sunsynk 5kw batteries in parallel. Recently, despite the system showing 100% SOC, the leds on one battery lights up to 4/6 whereas the other battery is lit up 6/6.

Which Sunsynk batteries, the IP 65 or standard batteries?

Did you set the dip switches correctly (standard batteries, no dip switches on the IP 65 batteries) or switch on the batteries in the correct order if you have IP 65 batteries?

Did you install the coms cable in the correct ports?

How did you wire the battery cables, parallel or casacade parallel?

Have you checked the battery communication, the IP batteries have a full description ?

I am experiencing issues with batterries dropping to 99/98 % when the batteries are set for 100%
