    PV coc form

I hear there is a new form out for the COC of PV systems.
Does anybody have a sample of the new PV coc form, I would like to see what it looks like.
I can't sign a PV system off since I'm not an IE or Master but I still would love to see what the form looks like, Call me curious

I've seen about 3 versions but correct me if I'm wrong, the only test sheet presently acceptable legally is the one that's in the format shown in 8.7 on pages 261 to 277 in SANS 10142-1 Ed3.

I have seen a number of people who speak of a PV/Solar COC, pretty sure it is not a legal form like the COC we use.
That is why I'm curious to see the form. Guess it is a form to record the PV side of the installation, not sure who issues it or how legal it is though!

Take any form that looks like a PV coc and modify to suit your requirements.

Just beware of using the one with the council bylaw tick required, if you use that form and you tick that section, you identify that you are aware of the council requirements and that the installation is registrered as per the council bylaws and if it is not you will be taken ot the cleaners when the shyte hits the fan.

If the system is one f the hundred million thousand and twenty five units not registered, then you going to be held liable for meter tampering.

For all the smart end users make sure the installer issues a COC with that solar coc section ticked, then you can use that as evidence that you as the responsible person took the responsiblity to get the installation done according to the regulations, then you can redirect all the down time, COC to disconnect, meter tampering fine and any other costs when your system is disconnected by the council.

Just like the rates boycott backfired, boy is this solar SSEG registration going to collect momentum, that so called ROI is going to take a little longer than predicted by your installer.

By the way I dont know if anyone noticed it back to stage 6 load shedding, I didnt think that would last long. Watch the prices start climbing again

Time to dust off the long ladders and safety harnesses and make some money

So got a client who wants to now add panels but wants a CoC... Figured try do the normal one but have additional page where I have a letterhead with the PV module details etc... Not about to fill that other form where they ask about the registering SSEG thing as I don't even know the requirements as yet.

It is a tricky situation, because as an electrician you should be aware of all the council rules and bylaws, however signing a document with the information and the block ticked just makes it easier for everyone to make you accountable.

The customer could turn around and say that they went took steps to do it right ans used the right channels and expected the electrician/installer to advise thenm of the SSEG registration.

Make sure that if you do sign over a solar installation, you have it in writting or via email, which clearly states that the customer must register the SSEG.

Issue a supplimentary coc with an annexure with a list of the tests and single line diagram with as much detail as possible.

Very few people even know what a COC looks like , so for now literally any COC will do.

Test 5 result should be V for Volts (and not Ohms).
