what do you expect from your contractor
after reading a question in another thread...i decided not to hijack that thread rather start a new one.

what do you the customer expect from you local contractors...be it electrical...plumbing etc...and what stands out the most about the company you are using at present?

what makes you call the same company back...

better the devil you know...

just tooo much hassle to find a different one...

someone refered the contractor and you asume they are doing the job right...

happy with the standard of work...

staff are...friendly and polite...

staff are neat and dress smart...

clean up after themselves..

price is right...

service is fast and reliable...

take the time to entertain you and safisfy your needs...considering they are getting paid by the hour...thought i would add this one for the lonely...bored or unhappy housewives...

if none of the above...please feel free to add you thoughts...

Good one, I wonder if the husband will notice that the same plumber goes to his house 5 times a week to do some Roto Router :-)

i hear the garden service fellas a do more gardening than the plumbers roto routing...and the sparkys are just pulling wire

One shouldn't joke with this sort of thing and board house wives because it does happen.

On a slightly lighter note. The company where I did my apprenticeship years ago once had a guy that worked for them. The one job he went to was for an old lady who was a widow. He did the job. She asked him if he would mind going to the shops for her to get some basics.

He said not a problem and went after work got the stuff and took it to her place. He felt sorry for her and carried on doing these shopping trips for her in the years that followed.

After 2 or 3 years the old lady passed away. About 6 to 7 months after that an attorney walked into the contractors office where this guy worked. This old lady had no family or kids. She had left her whole estate to him. This amounted to like 6 or 7 million rand.

Needless to say he resigned 2 weeks later when he realised it was not a joke.
