    Small Business Marketing.

I have just booked for this event in Sandton next month Small Business Marketing. This is with Peter Carruthers whom I have been following for a while and find 90% of his newsletters helpful.
Anyone else going in Sandton. I got the early bird discount so it was just over R1K.

Hi Alex have you been on the Peter Carruthers seminar? Or is this a generalised comment?

Ian there are now so many fakes on this Forum. They state their location as USA (a very big country) but are actually from China or Pakistan etc. A location is a city or a town. In my book a county does not qualify as a location and a proper introduction is almost mandatory. What have you got to hide?

False information should automatically disqualify you from the Forum SA. How do the other members feel about that?

Most times the grammar and spelling become warning bells, if the person indicates that they are from Oz or USA. One would assume that if you live in these countries, in a very short time, you will become proficient in the language.

I've been considering adding a geolocation reporting script that would be viewable by members that would start "posted from xxx"

Still chewing over the privacy issues, though. I'd certainly have to amend the TFSA privacy statement as minimum, but that's the least of the problems.

By all means give feedback on the issue. I'm all ears.

Well, I would think that it is just good manners to introduce yourself properly.

Completing one's profile also makes it easier for other members to see which industry a person is in. He or she can then be approached for advice, or advice/questions can be tailored to their specific industry. It also improves networking opportunities where different businesses can be connected.

Should you wish to advertise your business, it is essential to tell us who we are dealing with. I have also used the services of some of the members, based on the information they have provided.

The other way is compare the ip address to location given. Good to see Texas is in Pakistan now.

Texas is now a province of Pakistan. Cape Town is in China. What's next? I wish these spammers will just stay home and play with their joysticks or take a hike.

The recent spurt out of Asia (in particular) coincides with TFSA making a certain list published on an SEO site fairly recently.

There's nothing I can do about that list, but once they twig that I made some adjustments a couple of months back (when I discovered the list) and they're not getting what they're aiming for anymore, I've got a hunch they'll be moving along.

In the meantime they're wasting their time.

And ours too, unfortunately - but hopefully knowing that they're basically spinning their wheels will give our regular members some comfort.
