How To Run Android Apps On PC

Android running laptops and PCs is now becoming one of the main focus in tech industry, with the introduction of the first Android running laptop, the Archos Arcbook which was launch in May, followed by the HP Slatebook, both of which provide full access to Google Play store, people can't wait to get hold of running Android apps on their pc.

Ofcourse you won't want to abandon your old PC to buy a new Android capable notebook, the good news is there are ways to run any Android apps on pc with no extra cost. I'll be providing two ways of which you can install and run Android apps on your PC.

    1. Using Bluestack - Installing Bluestacks to your PC enables you to run and download Android apps on your computer system. It supports all Windows and Mac OS.

    2. Using Android SDk - Downloading and installing SDK to your system provides an atmosphere for you to run Android apps on your PC. Though Android SDK was mainly built for Developers for testing and experimenting developed apps. The first option is more preferable because it runs smoothly with no lagging, but using SDK requires PC with high specs for optimum performance.

Any suggestions on getting Android onto a Nokia that currently has Windoze 8 as its OS?

Unless Nokia publish android drivers for your device you won't be able to create an environment to get the new OS to compile. Without getting too technical you're on a hiding to nowhere, rather sell the Nokia to some unsuspecting mug and buy an Andriod device. When you advertise it make sure you harp on about the the Carl Zeiss optic stabilization and how fast it is on the internet, lucky for you there's one born every minute

Has anyone handled a Nexus 5?

It is the only Android handset that is marketed directly by Google, and the only one that runs "vanilla" Android, as Google intended it, without any bloatware from vendors like Samsung, Sony and the like. It is also the only Android device that gets the latest Android versions direct from Google, without any delay.

The only problem is that none of the network operators in South Africa sell it. However, it is possible to buy one for cash from a local importer, Orange, for about R5,000.

I am very tempted to get one, as I am not impressed with the Samsung bloatware on my S4. I have rooted my S4 and tried various custom ROMs, but none of them have proved to be sufficiently stable for my liking.

My daughter bought one from Orange a few months ago and loves it. Only order your accessories like bumper covers and screenguards at the same time as she couldn't get any locally and had to import those.
She is an Android developer so she knows her stuff.

It seems there are a few modified Android builds already made to work on some Lumias. Just google something like "Lumia Android mod".

What a nice job your daughter has! Doing the things I love doing, but getting paid for it!

I've just ordered my Nexus 5 from Orange - hope to get it early next week.
