Is your smart phone stalking you?

With the recent spate of bugs and intentional back-doors revealed, it's probably affirmative.

Just recently another set of NSA sponsored back-doors found on the iPhones: http://www.zdnet.com/forensic-scient...ce-7000031795/

Wouldn't be at all surprised if yet more wil be found on Android / WP / BB / etc. as well.

For sure, every single cell phone company knows which cell each sim is connected to anyway. Cell phone movements are tracked by virtue of the cell towers handing off to one another.

Yeah, that was always the case ... however with these things it means the government (though the USA's gov) has built into it something which they then can use to get access to all the data on the phone (without even needing to go through the carrier / manufacturer).

And since they've built in these back-doors it's not impossible for just about anyone to exploit them. So don't be surprised when those banking details of yours (which your bank is sending via email / sms) is public knowledge for just anybody. This makes the security aspects on sensitive sites (like banks) even more of an issue - many of these use 2 stage security (e.g. login on-line and then send you a confirmation SMS which you need to reply to), not rocket science to fake that when you have full access to the phone!
