Before you go to dispose anything there might be an even better solution and Freecycle it if you are near a Freecycle community.
    E.g. Cape Town

I donated my broken/obsolete IT stuff there and the recipients fixed it and made good use of it. Often charitable causes.

Schools could benefit greatly from this - that would really do some good

Obsolete computers can be revived with Linux and make it affordable for somebody who wants to learn more about computing.

A “conspiracy theory” no longer means an event explained by a conspiracy. Instead, it now means any explanation, or even a fact, that is out of step with the government’s explanation and that of its media pimps.

"There's Gold in them-thar IT Hills", YeeHaa.

Lot's of e-waste has Gold and other precious metals, however the recovery of these is not financially viable for the average Joe-Soap. The specialist recovery companies will keep a lot of the dangerous stuff out of our landfills and they recycle a massive amount of materials, support them where you can.

                  true

the very sad part is that we guys who collect & sell to recyclers get LESS THAN HALF WHAT GUYS IN THE US & CANADA GET FOR EXACTLY THE SAME STUFF!
im thinking of posting my stuff to the US but postage/shipping costs make it almost unfeasible.

                  still, somethings better than nothing.

so, please, people of Durbs, PM me if u have any metal & ewaste that u wish to dispose of.
i dont have a permanent job & scrap collecting & the occasional plumbing job keep me going.
