    Water management devices

Hi folks, I'm sure most of you have heard about water management devices being installed in Cape Town.

What i'm interested in is a device that would allow me to set a daily limit and will cut off the supply once that amount has been used up.

The meter should reset every morning unless the amount of allocated water has been completely used up.
In such a case it should have a manual reset feature so that i could reset it myself in the event of a pipe burt or a heavy laundry day.

My reasoning is that if you go away for a week you don't want the meter to reset every morning like the CCT WMD.

Does anyone of suppliers in Cape Town that might deal in these type of devices?

oh. Do you want to control it with your mobile device? Or should it have its own system for control?

I'd suggest using two off-the-shelf devices to achieve your required functionality. Use a standard WMD where you set a daily/weekly allowance then install a separate solenoid vave linked to a GSM controller so the water supply can be shut down entirely for periods of time.

The mechanical option is to install a 'Jojo' tank, on a stand if necessary, then use a multi level control valve on the inlet which switches the water off when the tank is full and only allows water back in when the level drops below a certain level.

Sorry for the hijack, but this is down my alley as well. Does one get a device which could, for example, allow 6KL water through ( to a Jojo tank) and then switch off?

Are you needing 6Kl per day every day? If you're putting this amount into a tank you'd probably need a hi-level shut-off to prevent overfilling...

              No, 6K per month.

Amanzi Meters have an iMvubu valve that can do restrictions and daily allocations. It can be reset remotely via GSM or satellite.
A web interface allows the controller to access, read and control the valve via the internet.
