    Skype Classic will be ending 1 Sept 2018

    Much to my dismay Microsoft, who now owns Skype, will be ending what was known as Skype Classic (ver 7.40 or 7.41) as at the 1st September 2018 making users download the new version 8.25

    Although it is being promoted as an upgrade there are many users who are very unhappy with the latest version. You can read some of their comments here:

      I agree, I resisted upgrade too, but now I had to. Now I cannot seem to do all anymore what I used to do. Grrr

          So I decided to hang on to my old Skype and refused the updates ... and it is still working. I had a look around and see that Microsoft has given Skype Classic a stay of execution ... at least for a little while. Thank you Microsoft.
