I've got the Toshiba Satellite P200D.....seems to be having problems with graphics driver, fingerprint reader and smartcard reader....Does appear to be intermittent - but 'blue-screens' and then recovers....

have you had an attempt at updating the drivers for those? I noticed that when I got a latest version of my motherboard drivers, windows live messenger starting working again =/ I had thought it was a vista issue. otherwise, find out the manufacturers of those parts and I can do some digging.Comment

Moneymaker, open the start menu and type "update" in the search box. Choose "Windows Update". Click "Check for updates" in the top left. Once it has checked, click on "View updates" (I think - can't check it at the moment). There may be some optional updates which you can select and install.

I have a suspicion that Toshiba might be the culprit and not Vista. My Acer has no problems, my Toshiba is still a problem. none of my previous issues has been solved.Roelof Vermeulen (Entrepreneurship in large organizations)

as I said before drivers are made by the laptop company, not vista. vista can only scrape what it can find.Comment
