Microsoft gets big win in Vista Capable lawsuit

    read here.
wow. I can see how they lost this section, but if they lose the vista capable section, I'm going to be sadly disappointed. they literally have emails, detailing that microsoft knew it was doing wrong, but they did it anyway. The only way microsoft can pull a rabbit out the hat is probably by saying even though home basic is a very watered down version of vista, it is still a part of the vista range. This kind of brings new hurt to the word "Vista." with the range differing so vastly, how can the lowest version be even compared to the higher version?

    Some interesting arguments there.

Would you say AERO is a definitive part of Vista?

if you look at it in terms of visual impact, considering it's either missing from the person's PC, or is there daily, it could be considered a pretty big difference. but the problem I have is it only makes the UI look good. it doesn't add much more functionality to the operating system as a whole other than being visually appealing. if the search disappeared with it, then yes, I'd say that was a major part, but as it stands, do graphics actually count as much in the operating system? XP users have been happy to go back after they've seen aero, so I would say that is probably a no.
