I am looking to set up a Wordpress site. I need a theme that allows me to set up information in category /topic format rather than date format.

The user must be able to go into a category and see the topic descriptions sorted in alpha order.

Any ideas?

If it is only a Content Management System you are after, you might consider Concrete5

Let me show you exactly what I need to do. I run a website www.scalecraft.co.za

The site is used primarily to sell our trains but...I want to add a front end to it where we will show the trains in better detail. So for argument sake we would have the following structure:

Scalecraft Models:
Rovos
Trans Karoo
Blue Train
Goods trains
etc
Model building
Painting
Resin casting
etc
Then a link to the OsCommerce site off the front end.

The idea is really to show the user what the models really look like, how to build them, care for them etc.

I found putting pictures into Joomla topics to be a real pain. I don't really want a blog as such, just a simple CMS system.

Hiya Ah, done a couple of WP sites and there are a STACK of options.

I would suggest install it, then it will direct you to pages with free templates etc from the help pages. Almost every template i have used would allow you do as you want above. There are also stacks of plugins available... if you think it, good chance is its there
