How can I make software for my idevice?

here is a good start off (sort of a way to see if the apps are worth it) it also includes information about how to obtain the SDK and some other tools you'll need.
the SDK for ipad
as for other devices like macbooks and the like, I'm not entirely sure. I know Java does some cross-platform apps, but it can be a long journey to learn that (having studied it myself, I already have felt the sting).
otherwise, go to freelancer sites and get them to code for a small fee.
