    [Question] Beta Versions of Software

    Hi Everyone,

Was wondering if anyone has experience with Beta versions of software?

I want to try out Google Chromes Beta as i have a few problems on my system with the latest that is apparently fixed in the beta but i am worried that it might make even more problems for me?

Any experiences\advice with Beta Software will be appreciated

    Thanks

well, give it a try and see how it goes. If it doesn't work, uninstall it

Yep - quite a bit, particularly with vBulletin and a few related products.

I'd suggest Beta grade should be considered for test purposes only. Betas are not nicknamed the bleeding edge for nothing.

When it comes to web browsers, you might have some unexpected behaviour. But the most concerning issue is possible security vulnerabilities.

Thats what caused my problems. I had an older version of chrome installed and it worked well.

Firefox then released 4 and i was convinced into trying it out. I just didnt like it at all, was not displaying webpages propertly etc...

I then decided to go back to chrome, but get the latest version and now the latest version of chromes flash keeps crashing and i cant get the old version back. So i heard that the beta has this problem solved

So i guess lets try the beta

                  I have only used firefox 4, chrome 9 & 10 and explorer.

I like chrome the most, however i use explorer for banking and sensitive stuff.

Never used opera except on my phone which is pretty good.
