SAIX international bandwidth issues.

I've been having problems with international connectivity for a couple of days now. So this morning I called Telkom ISP to see if there is a known problem. Apparently there is a known problem that is affecting users on the SAIX backbone.

They could not comment on the situation for users on the UUNET backbone.

How's your internet performing at the moment, and how do you connect?

No problems, using iBurst - AFAIK they run off the UUNET backbone.

Hmm. That's as I thought. I've been giving Dewet a bit of grief about how I've been struggling, but it seems it's down to SAIX issues. He's had no issues, but his preferred connection is on the UUNET backbone too.

Both my methods of connecting run on the SAIX backbone, which is usually better than UUNET for international. Tables turned.
