    Replacing Light Switches

    Hey All

I am currently replacing 2 x light switches in my house to control the passage light, from 2 difference locations.

So far I have replaced the old Mettalic type plates/switches, with newer plastic versions with 2 way switches in them.

Now the question I have is that the Earth Wire used to be connected to the old Switch with a dedicated connection point.

The New switch does not have a place for the earth so do I?

    A) Cut it back and leave it in the box.
    B) Put a ring lug on it and screw it to the metallic box located in the wall. (this will be done by the screw holding the light switch in place)

    Regards

Is the replacement switch completely plastic construction?

I wouldn't cut the earth wire, rather just tape it up so it can't float around and touch anything. Personally I would screw the earth to the backbox.
