    need contractor in Cape Town

Looks like the electrical industry is as rotten as my industry.

I kicked my old contractor out due to incompetency. They even still chase me 2.5y later for allegedly unpaid invoices which were paid in full back then.
I changed contractors and pretty much the same and worse happens now. Lack of admin, lack of communication, even dubious jobs or jobs which simple wee not done. I have to baby sit them and I do not need that. I need people who ad value to my life, not steal it.

I am pretty feed up now and need a new start. Is there anybody out there ideally in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town who takes pride in their work and can run a proper electrical contractor business incl admin and organization?

I have a colleague who manages flats and complexes in the Seapoint area - he has a huge white board of contractors that he uses. If you would like I can ask him ?

      Hi HR Solutions

Thanks, I just need one reliable sparky, but a recommendation can certainly do not do any harm.

I might be looking for employment in the Cape . Wife has put in her CV for employment with a company in the Cape, if she finds a job for the same amount of money she earns here in KZN, we could be moving.

If you are a sparky why not start your own business down here and shine?

Andy, I haven't started looking yet, but I hear it is going to be over my budget, even with a half million rand deposit. Might have to settle for a place in the flats.

Yeah, houses around here aren't what you'd call cheap but if you've got a mil deposit and you qualify for another mil or so asa bond then you're in with a good shout.

What type of electrical work is it? I'm guessing it's minor residential repairs. What volume of work do you have? Are you looking for someone on a contract or SLA or is it just occasional callouts?

I am looking for occasional call outs if and when required. Blown sockets, geyser elements/thermostats, DB problems, blown circuit breakers etc.

Any opportunity to move to the Cape is a good one. Wish I could just pack up my business and my usual clients and move there. Goodluck finding someone reliable. There are only a handfull and when you find them, take care of them as the electrical industry does not...

Looks like your electrical industry has the same reputation/bad service level as my estate agents industry.... and many other industries.

That is unfortunetly what happens when an industry is left unregulated and unpoliced.
