Three phase to single phase generator advice needed

    Hi guys.
Going to be doing an installation on a building with a 3Phase board. They have 3core cable.

The generator is a three phase/Single phase Kipor 12kva petrol gen. There should be plates to change the output from three to single phase.
    Where is that plate located?

This link is not the exact model i dont think but it gives you a clue.

    Thanks

Why only a 3-core cable? No neutral and no CPC?

I doubt the generator will have an option to be used as a single phase supply if it's wound as a 3-phase generator, it will probably overheat if you just load one of the phases and not the remaining two.

I'm suspecting that it's rated as 230/400v and this is causing some confusion. This just means you can configure the windings in star or delta, it doesn't mean it's capable of giving you an option of single or three phase. If it's configured in star it will give you 230v 3-phase and you can then ground the centre point (neutral).

I'm not sure where the links will be on this particular model to change the 230/400v option but the generator suppliers should be able to give you this info.

      You are correct sir.
Decided to flip the main S/phase cb with a 3phase and spread the #phase gen over there so it works perfectly in 3phase when gen kicks in.
      Thank you

Bundu power / Absolute power have some pretty decent generators. Been to their warehouse, loving those John Deere genies they have with the weatherproof canopies. Very decent, if I remember correctly they use Deepsea controllers which has lost of functionallity included.

How is the AVR working for you on the BunduPower genie?

I have some concern on the generator we rented from them last time as the AVR didn't cut out the supply once the generator got turned off while everything was still connected and running.

Even my little 6.5kVA Grip generator with it's tiny little built in AVR cuts the supply should the voltage rise or drop below its tolerance.
