Laws for isolation of motors for maintenance.

    Good day guys
I have recently started working at a refinery and I noticed that not one of their motors (spark proof) have isolators within arms reach of the motor, they have an e/stop mounted in front of a bank of motors ie: 1x e/stop that will cut off supply to motors, they have been issued a COC for this but to my knowledge this isn't sufficient, they do have suitable lock out procedures but as far as I understand this isn't sufficient.

    Any opinions would be appreciated.

the isolator doesnt have to be within arms reach if it is lockable. a manual starter with a lockable start button can be in the motor control panel and is acceptable.
