    No Hot water

Good evening, did a geyser repair over the weekend, replaced a 3kw element and thermostat on a 2007 cobra geyser 150l. The geysers draws a load but e water still does nt get hot. Bypassed ripple relay but still water is not getting hot. Now nt sure whats going on. Any suggestions out there.

When you say the geyser draws a load did you test the current with a clamp meter?

If you did it's not heating then there must leak somewhere. Either hot water is constantly flowing out of a tap somewhere or even a pipework leak. The other option is that the TP valve has triggered. If it's the latter you'll need a replacement valve because they're sacrificial and can't be reset.

Sometimes you have to reset the thermostat by turning the little dial all the way to max making sure that it clicks then all the way to zero and then in one motion turning it to the required temperature setting.

Thanks for the advice, it was the TP valve. Amazing how that little trickle of water made such an impact.

Lol, glad you got it sorted. Wait till they see how much that little trickle of water has cost them on their electricity bill
