[Question] If my geyser is tripping the earth leakage do I speak to a sparky or plumber

Hi folks, really dumb question as per the thread subject. My geyser is tripping the lights at random every twenty minutes or so. Do I need to call my plumber or an electrician?

Bonus points to anyone who might be able to hazard a guess as too what might be the issue that's causing the geyser to trip the lights.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read my (hopefully not too stupid) question.

the element most likely has an earth fault and will be tripping the earth leakage relay.
probably call a plumber rather. some electricians dont replace elements. or just ask the electrician first if he replaces elements. there is a small chance its some other wiring fault.

When I read your post, i assume your lights is also connected via your earth leakage. If you have any fluorescent fittings, you can also look at a faulty ballast causing the earth leakage to trip.
Stupid questions are the ones never asked. Knowledge is power, so if you don't know, ask.
