Alterations to Existing Supply

Hi Guys
I am wondering if anybody can shed some light on a on a problem that I have. I am an industrial electrician and do not renovate domestic dwellings however I have been asked to do some alterations to the existing supply of an old flat, mainly to remove the old existing Dist.Board it is at present a fused isolator and fuses, about 60 years old and does not have an E.L.U. installed. The premises have been rewired in the past as there is PVC wiring and not the old VIR wiring, the supply authority (Municipality) have installed a prepaid unit which is understandably sealed. Now my problem is the sealed prepaid unit which has to be moved and reinstalled. Who do I approach and obtain permission to do this alteration? I am a registered Installation electrician and not a registered electrical contractor.

I'm also not very well up on the domestic side of things but the last time I relocated an energy dispenser (a few years ago) I contacted the council to disconnect and they removed the entire front of the ED. I then relocated the back of the ED and installed the new cabling and when I was finished they came and refitted the front again.

The supply authority is responsible for the movement of the meter. Best way is to go to the supply authority and apply for the movement of the meter or get the info from them on how to go forward with it.

contact the depot in mowbray. you will have to submit an application to disconnect , then reconnect and submit a CoC. i dont think you can do it without being registered as an electrical contractor.
