    Electrical Technical Advisor wanted

    The Electrical Contractors’ Association of South Africa is seeking to fill a post of Electrical Technical Advisor. The appointee is to provide a comprehensive electrical technical advisory service mainly in Kwa-Zulu Natal.

    The technical advisor's duties shall include:
    • Giving technical advice on the Electrical Installation Regulations to members and the public;
    • Visiting sites to assist members with technical advice and carry out inspections on member installations;
    • Liaison with the Department of Labour, the AIA and municipal inspectors;
    • To serve on the Association’s technical committees,
    • To present short technical courses, etc.


    Minimum Qualifications: Installation Electrician (Master Installation Electrician would be an advantage)

    Experience: Minimum 5 years experience as an installation electrician, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role. Candidates must have strong technical, communication and dispute resolution skills and be intimately familiar with SANS 10142-1.

      Just 1. Package? (no not that one), given that an MIE (can) earn (not median) 700K p/a

        It's not SAPREF; I can confidently say the starting package will be significantly less than R700k p.a.

        It's a stable, well paying job though with good, long term career prospects and should come with all sorts of interesting challenges. Probably best for someone who would prefer a reliable income rather than the vagaries that go with contracting.
