Airdac CAble in roof spaces

Hi guys

Can anybody help me locate where in the new regulation (SANS 10142-1 Ed 2) it refers to the fact that the standard 16mm Airdac cable is not allowed in a roof space due to the fact that it is not ("Fire proof")
I cannot find my copies of SANS 1507 or 529 (not sure if its even in there or if that is where the answer will be.)
My issue is that the municipality installs this as the main supply to properties and obviously clients will be thinking im out to make a quick buck when i tell them this is illegal.

Your issue with the municipality (hereafter referred to as the "supplier", is this:

electrical installation - (what a CoC certifies : "an electrical installation as defined")

machinery, in or on any premises, that is used for the transmission of
electrical energy from a point of control (see 3.56) to a point of
consumption (see 3.55) anywhere on the premises, including any article
that forms part of such an installation, irrespective of whether or not it is part
of the electrical circuit, but excluding


a) any machinery of the supplier that is related to the supply of electricity on
the premises,
b) any machinery that is used for the transmission of electricity of which the
voltage does not exceed 50 V, where such electricity is not derived from
the main supply of a supplier, and
c) any machinery that transmits electrical energy in telecommunication,
television or radio circuits

Is there however any reference that i can make in regards to the actual cable as clients tend to rely more on the writen word than my opinion?

The municipal supply cable is not covered by the COC when you certify the installation.
a) any machinery of the supplier that is related to the supply of electricity on
the premises.

whats the story with it being " fireproof" ? does it mean "flame retardant" and wont burn if there is a fire? or "flameproof" and cant cause a fire?
