Cables dragged through 20mm holes in structural steel

    Hi all

1.5mm flat twin and earth pulled through 20mm holes drilled though structural steel - got to be a no no - right? You can't just put holes through steel supports?

Client going nuts because i refused to touch another guys electrical work which, among other things that worry me, as a cable route he chose was drilling through the support structural steel numerous times.

Are the edges of the holes radiused or are they sharp? If the holes aren't sharp and there's not likely to be cable damage then it could be more of a building regs issue rather than an electrical one. Usually penetrations in structural steel supports would need signing off by a structural engineer.
