    [Question] Quotation for new electrical installation

    Please help I use to under quote. I have a plan of 3 bedroom double story to quote for. Chasing to be done,tubing,wiring and installation. 1 db single phase,28 downlighters,10switch points, 10 plug points,1 Steve isolator,2 patio lights,2stairway lights and 2 garage fluorescent. Everything on flush mounting.CoC included.

    There's no 'one size fits all' formula for quoting electrical installation work. you need to cost price all your materials and add your mark-up. Draw up a labour program and work out the hours required and multiply this by your hourly/daily rate. Add the labour and materials figures together and add appropriate amounts to cover anything out of the ordinary that's particular to that job.

          A thumb suck would be around R35000.00 as per list

          excluding:
          the main cable.
          Meter box
          council connection costs

          by the way if you quoting to install conduit and wiring...there is a good chance your price will be way more expensive than the twin+E contractors plastered straight in the wall.

          People buy these "town/complex houses" for millions thinking the electrical is done in conduit and wiring...to find the very first electrician call out that property developers dont waste money of unnecessary stuff
