    [Question] Overhead projector problem

When a light switch is turned on or off then the overhead projector's lamp turns off. Tried powering the projector from a different plug circuit. Same problem.

I have checked all power connections in DB. Voltages in order. There are 4 plug circuits in house. Tried powering the projector from each circuit with the others off. Same problem.

It is also random light switches causing problem. It also happens when the microwave ovens door is opened and closed.

Could the slight arcing that occurs in light switches be the cause and if so, what's the cure ?

    Any ideas ?

    Greetings Derlyn

Does your overhead projector have an HDMI cable?, if so try to use the RCA output and test. This will go issue will go away I had a similar challenge with a TV used the RCA inputs and went away I then went and bought a better quality HDMI cable and all sorted.

The customer had recently fitted LED lights that were causing the problem.

I would also advise that your earthing gets checked

Hi SeanM. My customer insisted that the power to the unit was faulty.

I suggested to him that there are 2 easy ways of checking that.

      1. Plug an extension lead in one of your neighbours plugs and use that to power up the projector.

      or

      2. Power up the projector from a UPS and see if problem persists.

He was going to do those tests and let me know of the outcome.
He has avoided me, so I presume the power supply is OK.
I made it clear that my responsibility ends at the plug socket outlet.

      Thank you, Brother.
