    [Question] Wiremans License application

    After submitting your documents and finish unit standards how long generally do you wait to receive license from Department I understand its quite long?

    My brother.

    You are in South Africa in 2021. Nobody can answer that question with any degree of surity. How long is a piece of string ?

    In 1992 it took 2 weeks. I was part of that club. Things worked then.

    Today? Who knows?

    Good luck brother. Hope it doesn't take toooo looong.

      It really bothers me to think that everything is so crippled..
      Will keep track and if I do get it will inform how long it took.

          When I did mine not long at all, as long as you have submitted all the correct information.

          I was expecting to wait long in total it was 6 weeks.

          I have the contact number for the person that deals with these in Pretoria he is very helpful.

            Hi guys,iv Completed my unit standards and were found competent,Now the big wait papers wil be send for application at EWSETA,
            talking about a 16 week wait ,due to Covid19...........and might be longer.

              I might aswell get my material for Specialised Electrical Codes by the time I get the paperwork done FOR IE..

                    I did it a few years ago, sent paperwork away early February, only got my wireman's card via post (with contractors number) end September.

                      After such A busy week,Ending the week of great received EWSETA LETTER today,last step of the process is to sumbit few docs to Department of labour for my IE Number and register myself,then we take on the Solar field!
                      Renewable energy all the way!
