    Electrical standards 10142-1 ed 3 + 2

I contacted the ECB to buy the new regs ... I am busy with a project which is going to require some thought.

Apparently you cannot buy the online version.

Where can I get an online version.

With new regs being launched in a few weeks/month ... will you have to pay for a new book gain considering the new amendments have a pile of updates.

    Do we rather wait ?

The online version you can only purchase through Sabs webstore ( https://store.sabs.co.za/ )
The version is only valid for 1 PC and has your name all over it

ECA should have hardcopies for sale in the Durban office

We generally buy 1 PDF version and 3 hardcopies for the workshop

Waiting for the next version for me does not work otherwise you fall behind on changes that can come back to bite - Guess it is part of being an electrical contractor that you have to keep purchasing the latest regulation

        Thanks ... done.

It makes life a whole lot easier.

I downloaded the PDF and saved it to all my devices and a memory stick.

The bonus with it in PDF ... you can print just the pages you need and scribble on them and keep copies in the job folder to reference.

Now to read and catch up with the changes.

An interesting call after purchasing the new 10142-1 ed 3

I get a call from a number 0800 005 559 with my name and details about the transaction ... informing me that they are from the bank I use and they need to verify that I did make the transaction.

I found it a bit strange so I didnt share any details ... instead I called the number to see hat it was all about ... not using my cellphone ... it was pointed out that they could complete the enquiry because my number didnt match their records.

So called my banks fraud department who verified that it wasnt them calling and that fraudsters had attempted to obtain my card details and the number on the back of my card so hat they could make online purchases.

I wonder if this is a leak in SABS ?

My experience of transaction validation calls from Standard Bank is one of "did you make these last three transactions".
            And it was automated.

Surely SABS uses a payment gateway?

I contacted the bank again ... just to make sure ... it was a scam trying to get my CVV ... apparently once they have your CVV number they go on a wild online spending spree.

You would think the bank would have better measures to prevent this kind of situation ... like a 2 stage notifications when there is activity on your account ... I know my wife is with FNB and they keep her up to date with everything going on in her account.

You can buy online at SABS store but you need to have account and you can get it in PDF Format.
