With the regs going back and forth with regards to using double pole isolators for fans heaters etc in places like bathrooms ... there is a bright side to using them ... if the heating element grounds to earth ... you dont sit in the dark until the sparkie can fix it ... you just switch of the double pole isolator ... and we all know how common it is for heating elements to go to ground.
Next time you are considering the isolator position for any device with heating elements ... consider the headache if the isolating is mounted out of reach or in the ceiling space.
