    MES intermediate switch

I got put in a spot yesterday ... I had a person at the counter ask me how to connect an intermediate switch ... I have always know an intermediate switch to have 4 terminals .. .not MES ... they have a 6 terminal ... I actually had to think a little and make a sketch to figue it out how to connect it.

To make it simple for you here is the switch from the MES website.

Something else to point out while talking 2 way and intermediate ... 2 way switch when using twin+e and you want the neutral (light) to connect to the first switch and not the last switch ... there is a way to do it ... you still use a 3 core ... but configue the switches differently to the traditional way of 2 using common and L1 and L2.

Note his comment at the end ... makes me think of the regs with regards to the new 2 page COC and the silly 2 pin plug

By the way I did install one the other day for a specific application where the TV and DSTV where 2 pins so I had to fit an extender plug for the second 2 pin ... you gonna say but there 4x4 socket outlets with 3 x 2 pins ... which still doesnt help because of the transformers on the 2 pins ... so I am still trying to understand the logic behind the 2 pin reg.

Maybe the person who came up with the pin socket rules owns apple products their chargers can fit 3 stacked.

Hahahaha I enjoyed the last bit as you said. All in the name of safety... gave me a big smile.

Intresting that the MES intermediate came with 6 pins. It would put me in a spin and then out would come the meter, pen, paper and a comfy spot haha.

But watching JW makes sense. I like that method of 2 way but never had to do an intermediate with that method. so never thought of the 6 pin or being an issue with the join.

        Thanks for sharing !

Years ago I had fun figuring out how to connect a 2way. We replaced some old switches ,it was still steel conduits with red wires and wired differently than I was used to. Live and return on each side with 1strepper. I ended up putting lights in series, and the works. Like I said it was fun.
