Electrical contractor reg. number

Hi guys
Recently renewed my registration as an elec contractor with dpt of labour.

I noticed now my contractor registration number has changed from GN**** to EC*****.
Is it normal that it changes when you renew your registration?

Do I record the new number on the COC form then?

You are registered in the Eastern Cape so it will be EC
You must have first been registered in Gauteng
