    Coc and test report.

Why is there a frequency tick box on the test report for electrical installations ?

Does anyone in SA use a supplied frequency other than 50 Hz ?

In the factory's they used to run socket outlets at a higher frequency for grinders etc . Sockets where marked and labelled .If I recall it was 100Hz .Was more in Tool rooms .Not sure if that still happens

With the advent of inverters now you could start getting people wanting off grid system to run 110v at 60Hz

Generators if not set up correctly could put out more than 50hz -

The only time have have seen frequencies other than 50 hz, when working with VSD's.

I think in the old days (back when Elvis was king ) it might have had something to do with the ripple relays for load shedding. Another example of why the regs and COC should be reviewed and created to suit the SA environment, by the people for the people.
Comments are my opinion, unless regulations are attached to support the comment. This is social media, not a court room.
