[Question] Centurion RDO Roll Up Motor Kit Replacement

    Hello,

I need to replace an existing garage door motor.

Can I safely assume I basically need to unbolt side, remove old motor and install new motor.
    Install control box & program.

Most importantly no need to do anything with the spring?

    Thanks,

What I know about replacing garage door motors is properly dangerous.

Generally you do not need to do anything with the spring but the reason the motor has been damaged could be because the spring tension needs to be adjusted .
The springs assist in making the lifting of the door " lighter " which takes strain away from the motor

Thanks for the feedback. The spring is tensioned well, and the door runs very light manually.
Stopped working after the last round of load shedding and constant outages.
Its at least 10 years old now.

I would assume you you have tried a different battery, or load tested the battery to check its not just the battery?
Comments are my opinion, unless regulations are attached to support the comment. This is social media, not a court room.

In many cases, the fuse is blown due to the inrush of current when the power returns after load shedding.

I get 24 VDC on the secondary of the transformer supplying the control board.
What happens is when you press the remote button, the signal led lights up on the control board and I hear a click, however nothing happens...

There may be a fuse in series with the battery.
The click could be the receiver relay.
I have the case where the motor relays, have burnt contacts.
There should be two of them which are wired in such a way that the one relay makes the positive to the motor go one way, and the other relay makes it go in the opposite direction thereby selecting up/down.
