Section 3 of the test report

This section should be discussed in more detail, too many people write absolute rubbish in this section.

The description of the installation covered is only the part fed from the DB mentioned in the top left corner, not the entire site.

If for example the pool DB was no longer referred to as an appliance because additional circuit were added, like a gate motor or garden lights etc.

The top left would read - Pool DB

The description of installation covered by this report would read - Pool DB fed from the main DB, includes the gate motor and gate lights along the fence.

    Lighting circuit - 1
    Light points - 3
    Socket outlet - 1 (Gate)
Fixed appliance - pool pump - 1 (this is another tricky part)

    Earth leakage protects
    - complete installation - 1 (if the earth leakage in the main DB is used to protect the DB)
    - only part of the installation - ( this would be used if the earth leakage was mounted in the pool DB)

Please feel free to add your comments, as we are all aware we all do things the way we think is right, but its doesnt always mean it is 100 % correct, I am not too old to learn.

I was tought that the description is what you certifying. For example, to certify the socket outlet in the main bedroom.

For a full CoC would say to certify the entire installation.

That is why you attach a supplementary test report the the original COC which is completed correctly.

Under description you will write socket outlet in the main bedroom and complete the test report with the relevant details to that socket, not the entire installation.

Ahhhh no you see I thought and was tought you do a Sup Certificate and a test report. Not just an additional test report to the initial CoC.

You are correct, the supplementary COC/test report must be added to the original COC/test report. Unless you are the person who issued the original COC, then all your details will be on the original COC/test report, so I dont see it being a problem, just adding a supplementary test report to the original which covers that part of the installation.

The dates etc will be incorrect - It requires a COC which will need a test report
