Client is building an outdoor entertainment structure, brick pillars and tiled roof. 3 Sides are open. One side is bricked all the way to the roof. Building permission is unknown - I didn't ask.
Am I right to quote on all surface mount and IP rated DB, light switches and socket outlets?
The client insists on a "normal" looking installation - i.e. flush mounted DB, flush mounted light switches and sockets (no surface mounts anywhere).
Common sense says it's outdoors, exposed to the elements so must therefore be IP protected, but I can't see anything specific in 10142?
Closest I can see is regs around Caravan parks and Marina's
Also, would it be a good idea to use 50mm PVC pipe as conduit between the main house and this building to run 4mm2 Surfix (shielded), CAT5 network and multicore security cable?
Appreciate your comments
