Hello there. I am trying to find out the thickness and type of wire needed for a 1,5kw singlephase submersible pump, over a distance of 100m plus the depth in borehole 20m and the distance from ground level into tank 6m. The inclination is about 35 degrees.
For lengths of 150 meters you must use 6mm, and you must have earth.
It also depends on where you put the control box.
If you can place the control box at the bore hole, then you can use 6mm - 2 core plus earth from the main DB to the control box. Then from the control box to the motor you can use 1.5mm submersible cable.
If you have the control box at source, then you will need 6mm - 3 core plus earth - Common, Main and Run winding all the way from the DB to the motor in the bore hole.
