    Equipment firmware updates

You have an app on your phone and a notification pops up that there is an update, you log into the app store and all the detials are ther eto view, you like what you see you update (all that really happens is you get more ads, spam and allow access, because you forget to go reset all the privacy and security settings) but thats not waht this thread is about.

I have noticed that it is rather difficult to get solar equipment manufacturers to share details about the updates, unless I am looking in the wrong place. I am not talking about program level updates, just general information.

What I have also found is the solution to every problem with solar equipment is a firmware update.

I am at a point where we wil not longer be supplying equipment to site until the equipment is taken out the box in the workshop, linked to the test rig, where it will be setup and checked that there are no out the box failures and at the same time make sure the inverter and battery firmware is up to date. In fact I am considering mounting the stuff to a backing board, complete with everything mounted (fuse disconnect, AC and DC control boxes and trunking) wired and connected. The batteries are pretty heavy, but they have plug in terminals, so they are easy to remove to reduce the weight.

What are your thoughts on the updates, is there is there a place where you can view the update/upgrades?
Comments are my opinion, unless regulations are attached to support the comment. This is social media, not a court room.

I'm jealous, I have never thought of testing and upgrading the firmware at the office.
Firmware updates are becoming a problem to do, you get to the site and it is load shedding and there is no Wi-Fi signal, also you can't phone or WhatsApp for help if you run into a technical glitch. So installing and testing it on a bench is a good solution, that can work, for the problem.
