Phoenix 200W Solar LED Floodlight from Mesmerize

A solar light with a backup battery, solar panels, a microwave motion sensor, built in day/night densor and a remote to control the light.

Just what I was looking for, and branded product, was it ?

Unfortunately this was a costly, embarrasing mistake, buying this product.

    Pro:

1/ It stays on the whole night in a low power state, so you get a liitle light throughtout the night.

2/ The battery will charge even on cloudy days.

    Cons:

1/ The cost, I got ripped a proper hole at R948.75 (including a constractors discount and vat) for 50 watt and R2064.95 for the 200 watt version.

2/ It only has an 8 meter sensing distance, which means if you mount the flood light up on the wall, it doesnt work unless you literally walk dirctly under it.

3/ The sensor, well that the part that really burns my crack, some days it works and other days it doesnt.

4/ The solar panel build quality, it looks like it was supplied from a backyard DIY manufacturer, the terminal block has like an IP 20 rating.

Would I piss R6926.69 againt the wall buying this junk (2 X 50 watt and 2 x 200 watt) every again, certianly not.

I am not impressed, I should have tested them on my property, before I supplied them to a customer

I should have known better, this is not the first time I have had problem with Mesmerize lights. that saying "once bitten twice shy". I should have learnt my lesson using this brand.

IF anyone knows of a good quality solar light that has a sensor that works all the time not sometimes, and you would recomend it to your customers, let me know.
