    Electronics for dummies

Today, for the first time in about 30 years, I decided to do a little ( very, very small ) electronics project.

A couple of things learn't today.

    1. My hands aren't as steady as they were 30 years ago.
    2. My eyesight ain't as good neither.

Anyway, I made a little non contact voltage tester using a 555 timer and 1 or 2 components.

Must say, I'm very impressed with the result and it works beautifully.

    Some pics.

Get one of these head magnifiers, worth their weight in gold.
I have 3 now, one at home, one at the office and a spare one I use when I am out doing work.
Certainly makes it a lot easier to see what is going on.

@ Justloadit. Good tip. Will have to invest in one of those jobs. 👍

I cannot think of a day the goes by that I do not use a " as Isetec calls it - a chicken stick. One of the handiest tools in my bag. I just lose too many of them, like I did on Thursday last week. I then decided to make my own one and am I glad I did. Works better than the bought item and time will tell if it lasts longer.

        Thanks for the tip.

Any tips for the shakes ? 😂😂😂
