Have a disagreement with a "master electrician". They beat our quote on rewiring some old flats. Metal conduit with VIR. They rewired but haven't put a earth cable in with the new light circuits. He says yes, I say as it's a rewire a wireway (old metal conduit) shall not be used as earth. Client is a little angry. Tell me I'm not going mad.

On a rewire you need to adhere to the latest regulations same way that if you installed a need circuit it would need to be done correctly .
