    Pscc and earth loop

So we do the PSCC and Earth loop at the main switch, we get a reading that in hopes allows a current enough for double the rating of the main switch,

Now why not like the UK we test the the earth loop and PSCC at a socket and the furthest socket to make sure the CB feeding the socket can trip, we just have to make sure the ECC is of low resistance that of a table.

So is it assumed here that is the current tested at the main switch being enough to trip that then the ECC of the socket circuit being in range of the table then it will trip?

In the UK they do the Zs=ZE+(R1+R2)

Where they make sure the resistance of the the whole circuit to the TX is taking into account to make sure it trips.

To me, testing at the main switch the Ze or the PSCC / Eloop at the main switch is not ideal as the only measurement.

We should do the PSCC and E loop at sockets as well to make sure the CB will trip. It will also pick up if the earth cable not there or high resistance due to the readings obtained.

Anyway just something I think of and have some time to type it haha

Hi, testing pscc at sockets will just tripp the earth leakage and the reading will be lower at the socket since it's further from the transformer, while the mcbs will have to withstand the pscc since they're closer.
Testing earth loop impedance at a socket will also just tripp the earth leakage. Your max reading will be 5.75ohms provided there's 230v and fed from a 20mcb.
I don't see what there is to gain by doing that but will experiment a bit and find out.

We also have sans10142 , full of tables containing min. wire size , max. length, current carrying capacity , ect and a whole lot of safety features. South Africa introduced the earth leakage to the world. It must say something about us.
