I would just like to ask where it specifically says that there must be a see through plastic cover over busbars in SANS 10142 or any other regulation or is it just considered good practice
Regardless of the regulations, why would you even consider not installing an additional layer of protection?
We install protective covers on all the DB's with exposed busbars, in fact we even install additional layers of protection is some control boxes which dont have exposed Busbars.
Wait till you work on new machines from Germany, you can barely get a test probe into the elctrical sections of the control panels.
