    Aircon circuit

    Gents,
Domestic aircon unit trips earth leakage. Should it be on ELU in the first place?
    TIA

I would fix the tripping problem, the only reason the ELU trips is because there is a problem or faulty.

IF the aircon is plugged into a socket outlet, yes.

IF the aircon is connected to a weathe rproof isolator outside next to the unit, no.

Like I said if the earth leakage units trips touch, if you bypass the ELU, ther eis a risk that "you" create a dangerous environment, best you check everything and verify the metal parts are not live before you leave, otherwise you could get yourself into a spot of trouble.

Had a similiar issue with an aircon, finally we found a leek on the drain pipe that drips water on the motor which caused the trip. Good luck with finding the fault.
All advice I can give is not to remove the aircon from the earth leakage

Normally an a/c circuit is a dedicated supply and not on the E/L, unless it is plugged in a plug circuit then must surely be on an E/L?
