We have started a rack mounted installation. I am starting to wonder why I haven't been doing rack mounted units from the beginning, a huge saving, for the consumer, not only for equipment and material, but labour cost.
They take up minimal space, they are mobile and just save money anyway you look at it.
It is an 8 kw inverter with 2 x 5 kwh batteries and 12 550 watt panels, not a smart idea to use a standard 8 kw inverter, there is a rack mounted inverter.
What blows my mind is the installation spacing requirements. The standard manual requires 150 mm between the batteries and 500 mm
it has been a nice break from solar, however as we evolve from load shedding applications and realise the financial benefits of adding solar to the inverter battery setups.
