    LED lights

Do you buy LED lights from a far east company or do you support local supplier (who import from the far east) ?

How long do you expect an LED to last ?

From my experience, buying the more expensive light with a longer warranty and promises of 25000 -50000 hrs, is not paying off in the long run.

I have found that the warranty is 2 years and a couple of months later, the light either goes dim or switches off.

The most common fault is the LED chip, one chip gets a small black dot and the light is binned.

I have found that Radiant LEDs seem to last the longest.

    I just buy Osram...

Price is so minimal between Osram and any other brand or chinese import.

My osrams have been in for about 4 years in my own house.

Its the surges and spike from eskom that kill them. They run for ever through my inverter as the inverter filters that out.
